A place for leaders to land, find their footing, and practice the deeper work leadership requires.
Leadership today asks more of us than strategy, communication, or performance.
Across sectors, leaders are navigating conditions that are changing faster than many of the systems around them were designed to handle. Political instability, economic uncertainty, climate disruption, and growing social complexity are shaping the environments where leadership is practiced every day.
Expectations are high.
At the same time, leaders are being asked to guide teams, support communities, and make decisions that carry real consequences for other people’s lives.
Over time, even thoughtful and capable leaders can begin to feel the weight of that responsibility.
Not because they lack skill or experience.
But because there are very few places where leaders can step back from the pace of their work long enough to reflect honestly on what leadership is asking of them in this moment.
The Practice Ground is that place.
What to Expect
The Practice Ground is a six session one to one leadership journey designed for people who are holding responsibility within organizations, communities, and systems.
Each virtual session creates space for thoughtful conversation, reflection, and guided inquiry about the realities you are navigating as a leader.
Together we will explore:
the responsibilities and pressures you are currently holding
the values and instincts that guide how you lead
the decisions and transitions you may be facing
the deeper questions that leadership in this moment is asking of you
Through our signature Birch Circle Framework, the sessions move through a cyclical process that allows you to slow down, reflect honestly, and reconnect with how you want to meet the responsibilities of leadership today.
You will gain:
greater clarity about your leadership and the decisions you are facing
renewed confidence in your instincts and values
a deeper capacity to remain grounded in complexity
practical ways to support yourself as you continue your leadership journey
This is not a leadership training program, and it is not therapy.
It is a practice space for leaders.
A place to pause and reflect in ways that are often difficult to do alone.
Through this practice, you will reconnect with the deeper foundations that guide how you lead.

Being a leader today asks something deeper of the people holding responsibility.
It asks whether leaders are willing to meet their own humanity as part of the work.
How do you continue to lead when the ground beneath your work is shifting?
How do you remain aligned with your values when the systems around you reward speed over reflection?
How do you hold responsibility for others without losing touch with your own values and integrity?
How do you work with your grief in ways that allow for more forgiveness, grace, and love?
These questions rarely have space in conventional leadership environments.
The Practice Ground was created so that they do.
-
Each session creates a quiet and confidential space away from the pace of leadership where you can reflect honestly on the realities you are navigating.
Sessions may include:
a few minutes to arrive, settle, and step out of the urgency of the day
somatic inquiry to connect with your inner knowing
thoughtful dialogue about the leadership challenges, decisions, or tensions you are currently holding
guided inquiry into the values and instincts that shape how you lead
reflective writing to explore ideas and creativity
exploring the systems, relationships, and responsibilities influencing your leadership
space to acknowledge the grief, uncertainty, or weight leadership can carry
nature based activities that allow you to reflect on the lessons that nature is mirroring back to you
identifying patterns in how you respond to pressure, conflict, or change
clarifying the decisions or next steps that feel aligned with how you want to lead
Each session is guided by a different phase of the Birch Circle, allowing the work to move through a natural rhythm of reflection and inquiry.
No two sessions are exactly the same. The practice adapts to what you are navigating and what this moment in your leadership is asking of you.

The Practice Ground is designed for people who are holding real responsibility within organizations, communities, or systems.
You might be a:
nonprofit executive director or senior leader
community leader or civic practitioner
founder or entrepreneur building mission driven work
facilitator, consultant, or professional who holds space for others
leader navigating significant transition or pressure in your role
Many leaders arrive at this work because something in their leadership has begun to shift.
The ways they once led no longer feel sustainable or aligned. The decisions they are making carry greater weight. The complexity of the systems they are working within requires deeper reflection than most leadership spaces allow.
They are ready to show up more authentically, grounded in their values and willing to lead in more human ways.
They are looking for the space to pause, reflect honestly, and reconnect with the deeper foundations of how they lead.
The Practice Ground is for leaders who are willing to engage in the reckoning that meaningful leadership requires.
The willingness to look honestly at how you lead, what you carry, and what this moment is asking of you.
This work asks for courage, humility, and a genuine commitment to growth.
It is not for people looking for quick answers.
It is for leaders who are ready to do the work.
An Invitation
If you are carrying meaningful responsibility in your work and feel the need for space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with how you want to lead in this moment, The Practice Ground may be for you.
I am currently opening two spaces for leaders to join me in this practice.
Additional spaces will be released as the work evolves. It is important to me that this work is held with intention, care, and the depth it deserves.
If you feel the pull of curiosity, I invite you to reach out.
Together we can explore whether this practice is the right space for you.
